About the Hospital
Since its inception in 1996, the B.K.L. Walawalkar Hospital, Diagnostic and Research Centre has served as a “medical oasis” for the rural populations of the Konkan region, effectively transforming Dervan from a backward village into a thriving “Cillage” ecosystem. This state-of-the-art 810-bed, NABH Entry-level certified facility was born from the vision of Revered Shri Vithalrao Joshi (Shree Digambardas Maharaj) and his successor, Shree Kaka Maharaj, through the combined efforts of the Shri Vithalrao Joshi Charities Trust and the Shree Sant Sitarambuwa Walawalkar Charitable Trust. Named posthumously to honor the unparalleled philanthropy and selfless service of its Managing Trustee, Shri Kamlakarpant Walawalkar, the hospital provides high-quality, ultra-modern medical care at highly subsidized rates. Beyond healthcare, the Trust continues to drive a total socio-economic transformation of the region by integrating various medical, educational, and social welfare projects designed to empower the poor and marginalized.
